Social listening tools tell you what was said. Social Take tells you what to post.

For social teams who do not need a monitoring dashboard. Every morning: the moments people are posting about on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit and X, read against your brand, with the posts and the Platforms’ own numbers under each one.

When a social listening tool is the right choice

  • You need every mention of your brand, including news sites, blogs, forums and reviews.
  • You report sentiment or share of voice to the business.
  • You are managing a crisis and need an alert the moment your brand is named.
  • You need years of past conversation to study.

Social Take does none of these. It does not track mentions of your brand and it does not measure sentiment. If that is the job, one of the tools below is the right purchase.

When Social Take is the better fit

  • You run social for one brand or several, and the question every morning is what to post.
  • You want the day’s moments with the posts that prove them, not a feed of keyword matches.
  • You look after several client brands and want the same morning read against each of them.
  • You want numbers you can check: every one is the Platform’s own count.

The established social listening tools

  • Brandwatch. Publishes no prices; its plans page asks you to book a demo.
  • Sprout Social. Sells Listening as an add-on to its Standard plan ($199 a seat each month) and above.
  • Brand24. Plans from $249 a month, or $199 a month billed yearly.

Each line is from that company’s own page as it read on 2 October 2026. Prices are theirs, in their own currency, and may have changed since.

Questions

Is Social Take a social listening tool?
No. A social listening tool monitors mentions of a brand or keyword across the web and measures sentiment. Social Take names the moments people are posting about each morning and reads them against your brand, so you can decide what to post.
Can Social Take replace Brandwatch, Sprout Social or Brand24?
Only if what you used them for was deciding what to post. Social Take does not monitor brand mentions, sentiment or share of voice, so a team that reports on those keeps its listening tool.
Which Platforms does Social Take cover?
The morning briefing reads TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit and X.
Where do the numbers come from?
Every number is the Platform’s own public count at the time it was read. Where a Platform gives none, we say unverified. Nothing is estimated.
How much does Social Take cost?
The Social Take newsletter is free, every Monday. The app for social teams is not on sale yet; newsletter readers hear first when it opens.
